Surprisingly enough, there are a wide variety of diseases that can affect and harm the teeth. Restorative dentistry is the diagnosis and management of the damage and havoc these diseases can cause our teeth in hopes of rehabilitating the teeth. No one will tell you that root canals are the most pleasant experience. At Dr. Gary Mannarino in Windsor, however, we have the skills to complete root canals and other endodontic treatments as quickly and effectively as possible. We can also perform other restorative dentistry services such as repair crowns, bridges and dentures, restore colour and treat teeth that have experienced a trauma.
Please do not hesitate to contact our clinic to schedule an appointment.
Restorative (Repairing Teeth)
Endodontics (Root Canal Treatments)
Endodontists specialize in dealing with the soft inner tissue of teeth which is commonly referred to as the pulp. Endodontic therapy is usually called a root canal and is designed as a method to relieve tooth pain caused by severe decay or infection. The pulp of a tooth can be damaged by repeated dental procedures, large fillings, cracks or chips, trauma to the face, or just deep decay from general wear and tear of our teeth. At Dr. Gary Mannarino, we offer:
During a root canal treatment, the length of the process depends on the amount of infection and inflammation present in the affected tooth’s pulp. The root canal or endodontic therapy process has been around for many years and has a very high success rate. During a root canal, the pulp of the tooth is removed; the inside of the tooth is cleaned, and then sealed. It is a rather simple process and to avoid a root canal is to run the risk of the tooth becoming even more affected and forming abscesses. It is best to take care of the problems as they arise.
Sometimes the pulp of a tooth can be damaged due to a serious blow to the face, specifically the mouth. An experienced endodontist knows how to repair a tooth following these kinds of traumatic injuries. In the case of children, severe damage to permanent teeth can actually cause the teeth to stop growing entirely! An endodontist has the knowledge to help save a tooth by “replanting” it back to where it belongs in the gums.
If you feel that your teeth would benefit from restorative dentistry, please feel free to contact Dr. Gary Mannarino at Devon Plaza Dental. We would love to hear from you and help you restore your smile!
